Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What is Joyful Impact?

Joyful Impact is a coaching initiative designed to empower changemakers to create positive change while infusing joy into their lives. It focuses on impact, personal fulfillment, creativity, and effective leadership.

What is a ‘joyce’?

‘Joyce’ is a blend of the words ‘joy’ and ‘choice’. Those decisions that come from a place of joy in line with your values, rather than those decisions that are driven from under-resourced places (such as shame or fear). While we will give all emotions space to unfold within sessions, my role is to support you through them and empower you to make decisions that bring you closer to the life you desire.

What is the difference between coaching, therapy, and consulting?

Coaching is a collaborative, forward-focused partnership. As your coach, I will support you identify your goals, clarify your values and beliefs, and create a clear action plan. The work is centered on gaining new awareness around your challenge and taking steps to achieve your desired future.

Therapy, on the other hand, is generally past-focused, helping clients heal from emotional pain and process past trauma. If we both figure out that coaching is not the right intervention form and there is a need for therapy, I can help you in finding a professional that can help you with your situation.

Consulting is typically an expert-driven process where a professional analyzes a problem and provides specific solutions or advice. While this can be useful and highly effective in some business contexts, it is usually not recommended for deeper and long-lasting change. It also creates a hierarchy of one person knowing something, and the other being told what to do. While it might take longer to make progress with coaching, it will have a more long-lasting effect on your self-efficacy and growth.

What can I expect from coaching?

As our actions and emotional states are often influenced by core beliefs that we hold, we will start at the level that is most salient to you and dig deeper to find out what is really holding you back. From that new level of awareness, we can create concrete actions that you can take in your life outside the sessions to feel into a new reality and integrate it in your being.

While results can vary, clients who fully engage in the coaching process often experience benefits such as:

  • Clarity: A clear vision for what you want to achieve.
  • Confidence: The self-assurance to take bold action.
  • Strategy: A practical, step-by-step plan to reach your goals.
  • Accountability: Support and encouragement to follow through on your commitments.
  • Self-Awareness: A deeper understanding of your strengths and growth areas.
How is this different from other offers?

Joyful Impact coaching is unique in its integration of professional achievement with personal well-being. Many coaching services focus on either leadership skills or life balance, but here we do both. My background in the demanding startup world, combined with my training in coaching, allows me to bridge the gap between strategic, high-impact work and a joyful, fulfilling life.

We don’t just set goals; we explore the underlying values and beliefs that drive you. The aim is not just to make you a more effective leader, but a more aligned and joyful human being. The concept of making a ‘joyce’—a choice that stems from joy—is central to my approach, ensuring that your growth is not just another item on your to-do list, but a sustainable and energizing part of your life.

This holistic approach means we work on your leadership, your productivity, and your well-being in an integrated way, creating lasting change that resonates through every aspect of your life.

What is the coaching process like?

The coaching process involves the 5A Coaching Model, focusing on clarifying goals, assessing the current situation, and creating a safe space for personal growth and joyful exploration.

It is aligned with the International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) Code of Ethics, following the highest standards of the biggest and most active coaching community globally.

Who is this for? Do I need to have a specific problem to get started?

I mainly focus on coaching leaders and changemakers who often carry a lot of responsibility for other people and the world. However, my approach is flexible enough to support anyone ready for change, growth, and action. You don’t need to have a “problem” to get started. Many clients come to me feeling stuck, unfulfilled, or simply wanting to get from where they are to where they want to be. Whether you have a clear goal in mind or just a general feeling that something needs to shift, coaching can help you find clarity and a path forward.

How do I know if you’re the right coach for me?

The best way to find out if we’re a good fit is to have a Discovery call. It is a free offer, and there are no expectations for you to continue after it. This will give us a chance to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and you can find out more about my coaching style.

Can you guarantee results?

The coaching relationship is a partnership—I provide the guidance, tools, and accountability, but you are the expert on your own life and the person who needs to take the action in between sessions. Your commitment and effort are what will drive your success.

Logistical Questions

How long does a typical coaching engagement last?

The duration of a coaching engagement is highly personalized and depends on your specific goals. However, most clients find that a commitment of 3 months with biweekly sessions (six sessions in total) is a good starting point. This timeframe allows for the development of new habits, the completion of meaningful work, and the achievement of significant, lasting results. We will regularly review your progress to ensure we’re on track and adjust our plan as needed.

How long is a typical session?

The default duration is 60 minutes. However, I am happy to discuss doing 90-minute sessions, if there is special value you get out of an even deeper inquiry or slower pace.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel a session?

I understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, I require a 24-hour notice. This policy ensures that I can offer the time slot to another client and helps maintain the integrity of our professional commitment. Cancellations within the 24-hour window will be charged with 50% of the session rate.

Pricing & Rewards

How much do you charge for one session?

I offer different rates and discounts, based on your situation:

Does your organization pay?
My default rate for a 60-minute session for individuals who are financially covered by their organization is €150 for organizations with a clear impact-first mission. For “neutral” organizations my rate is €200. I do not support organizations with vague or unethical business practices.

Do you pay out of your pocket?
To accommodate different income levels, esp. between for-profit and non-profit leaders, I offer a scaled approach based on your salary. Simply take your annual gross income and divide it by 1000; this will be the rate for a 60 minute session. The minimum rate for 60 minutes is 90€.

Are there any discounts?
Yes! I provide 5% discounts on 3-session packages and 10% on 6-session packages, due to lower invoicing overhead.

Example: 6 discounted sessions for a purpose-first organization result in a package price of 810€.

Are there any extras?
You can optionally add an accountability email between sessions for 20€/session that will support you with an extra goal achievement booster. Per default those check-ins are sent at the mid-point between our sessions.

Example: 6 sessions with accountability email and 10% discount result in a package price of 915€ package price.

Can I get a reward for referring someone?

Yes, absolutely!

If you refer someone and the person decides to take at least 3 paid sessions, I will gift one free session to you.
